GUWAHATI: Gauhati University has issued standard operating procedures (SOP) for conducting of semester examinations of colleges affiliated to the university.

As per the new SOP, only the final semester examinations are to be conducted. The intermediate semester students are to be promoted on the basis of internal assessment marks and the theory marks that were secured in the previous semesters.
The final semester examinations are to be conducted in blended mode, following Covid-19 protocols and the SOP provided by the University Grant Commission (UGC). Although the question paper for offline exams will cover the entire syllabus, only 50 percent of the paper needs to be attempted by the students. The rest 50 percent marks will be given on the basis of the previous exams.

However, all students, irrespective of semester are to fill in the examination forms.
Further, only the students who will be attending offline examinations will be called to college and the university will be providing accommodation in its hostels for free to those students who had otherwise been staying at private hostels and as paying guests.
