Govt & Private Schools To Remain Shut On August 27, 28

GUWAHATI: All schools under government and private sector in Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain closed for two days, August 27 and August 28. 

This notice has been issued by the Office of Deputy Commissioner keeping in mind the severe heat conditions which is causing major inconvenience to children. 

It should be noted that in the months of July and August, Assam retained record temperatures going up to over 35 degrees. 

"The order still stands valid even after the downpour this evening as it has already been announced. Since the weather is very unpredictable, the temperature might rise again tomorrow," said Biswajit Pegu, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro) speaking to G Plus.
