Governor pleads for protection of tigers

On the occasion of International Tiger Day, Governor PB Acharya has appealed the Government and Forest officials to take necessary steps to protect tigers in the State, which is almost in the verge of getting extinguished. The Governor said, “International Tiger Day gives us an opportunity to lend our support towards generating worldwide attention for the protection and preservation of the big cats.” Focusing on the rich Flora and Fauna of the State, the Governor also said that the endangered species plays a very important role in the biodiversity of the region and on this day we should pledge to work towards the conservation of the creature.
