Gogoi and Ajmal maintain distance during the day but get busy with ‘ilu ilu’ at night: Amit Shah

GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah visited Kaliabor and Jorhat in Assam to speak at BJP campaign rallies ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Shah attacked the opposition Congress party and said that Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) have a secret understanding amongst them.

"It appears that the Congress is fighting alone but I urge the people of Assam not to get blind-sighted by this. Gogoi said that he wants to stay away from Ajmal but at night they stand side-by-side and get busy with ilu ilu (I love you, I love you). To secure the political future of his son, Gogoi has fallen at the feet of Badruddin," he said.

Shah was perhaps ridiculing how the AIUDF had decided to contest only three of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state as this could help the Congress. He further stressed that the opposition's only motive is to fill Assam with Bangladeshi spies and they cannot be expected to stop encroachment.
