GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed the citizens to check the authenticity of the information before coming to a conclusion.
It is to be mentioned that most of the Social Media platforms are being flooded with fake news in the wake of Coronavirus scare.
“Please go for authentic sources. Most of the fake news originated from outside the country. Don't blindly believe in forward messages that you receive on WhatsApp. Rely on the social media accounts with blue tick. These are run by responsible people,” minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Minister also asked the mainstream media to play a proactive role in curbing the menace of fake news.
