GUWAHATI: Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Assam Legislative Assembly on March 3 said that the doctors of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital will not be allowed to engage in private practice.
Speaking at the Assembly Himanta Biswa said, “We are going to ban the private practice of GMCH doctors from Bohag Bihu. They will get the same salary and other amenities at par with the AIIMS in Delhi.”
“I have asked the doctors to resign if they wish to work at private nursing homes. Now we are going to make a distinction between the government and private sectors,” he added.
