GUWAHATI: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted enforcement drives across various city areas, imposing penalties on residents and commercial establishments for multiple violations on February 4.

GMC imposed a penalty of ₹10,000 on an establishment in Birubari for not being in agreement with NGO. Another fine of ₹8000 was levied on a commercial establishment in Gotanagar for non-renewal of the trade license. Penalties of ₹3000 has been levied on two residents of Champak Nagar for stacking construction materials on the roads.
GMC took to X to put out, “Follow the rules, avoid being penalised. Today, GMC imposed penalties on residents & commercial establishments in various areas of Guwahati for dumping construction materials on the road, non-renewal of trade license and improper disposal of garbage.
