GUWAHATI: In the 19th Mayor-in-council meeting held on Tuesday, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) announced the extension of its ongoing special concession scheme for property tax payments. Taxpayers now have the opportunity to avail a 10% discount on their current year's property tax if paid by the new deadline of June 30, 2023.
The extension aims to encourage citizens to fulfil their tax obligations promptly and enjoy the associated benefits.
To facilitate ease and convenience for the citizens, GMC has taken an additional step by setting up a dedicated "Help Desk Point" on the 3rd Floor of the Uzanbazar GMC Office to cater to any grievances or concerns related to Property Tax and Trade License matters.
The Help Desk will be operational for a period of 15 days, starting from June 1, 2023, until June 15, 2023, even on holidays.
The meeting was chaired by the Mayor and was attended by esteemed officials including the Deputy Mayor, Members of the Mayor-in-Council, the GMC Commissioner, and other senior officers of GMC. Several crucial decisions were made during this meeting, primarily focused on property tax and trade license matters.
