GMC Demolishes Fast Food Joint and Wine Shop in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Based on a complaint, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) officials inspected a commercial building at Rajgarh Main Road (in front of By Lane No 02) and demolished an unauthorized construction in the basement of the building on June 17.

As per a press notification issued by the department, two shops namely Food Junction and Honey Drops Wine Shop which were constructed in the basement were demolished.

Notably, the NOC for construction was issued for Basement+GF+2 commercial building where the basement was exclusively approved for parking but had been rented out for commercial gains.
