GIFF 2019 To Showcase Over 100 Films From 65 Countries

GUWAHATI: Guwahati is set to host the third edition of the Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) in which a total of over 100 films from more than 65 countries will be screened.

The GIFF is an annual film festival held in Guwahati which is organised by the Jyoti Chitraban (Film Studio) Society in association with the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute.

The third Guwahati International Film Festival is all set to make the audiences feel a rollercoaster of emotions and will be held from October 31 to November 6, 2019.

The film festival will be divided into various sections where Iran will be the ‘Country in Focus’.

The first ever Guwahati International Film Festival was held from October 28 to November 2, 2017. The past two editions of the festival saw an enthusiastic response from cinema lovers and people of all walks of life.

While Turkey was the Country in Focus during the first year, the second edition of the film festival saw ASEAN countries as the Region of Focus.

Top filmmakers and envoys of many foreign countries took part in the festival in various capacities during the past two years.

The second edition of the festival was held from October 25 to October 31, 2018.
