GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has ramped up lighting the bylanes of the area of Chandmari following a report by G Plus.

Earlier, G Plus reported on the status of the streetlights of Chandmari area. Both the bylane lights as well the high mast lights were not in working condition, the report stated.
Following the report, the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) periphery area lights have come up, a local informed G Plus.
Further, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has assured that the problems will be looked into. "We have lit up almost 4,549 lights across the city. The problems are being looked at," Dipankar Kakoti, Superintendent Engineer of GMC, told G Plus.
However, the bylane lights near the Naamghar are still not repaired. Along with that, the high mast lights continue to remain non-operational. "We are trying to review the situation and will prepare a report regarding the high mast lights soon," added Kakoti.
