From Street Singer to Mumbai - The journey of Sikkim’s Santosh Gandharva

GUWAHATI: No dream is too big, and the journey of Sikkim's Santosh Gandharva has proved this for all of us.

Santosh Gandharva, who was only known as a street singer till few days back, today stands at the verge of living his dream in Mumbai.

A video of Santosh singing "Channa Mereya" was recently posted by a Sikkim-based entrepreneur which went viral on the social media platform.

Much to the destiny of the boy, the video reached popular music director and composer of Bollywood, Pritam Chakraborty.

Pritam, who was wooed by the talent of the boy, went on to tweet his desire to meet Santosh, and the tweet was shared by people from all over the northeast region.

When the news of Pritam's tweet reached Pawan Chamling, Chief Minister of Sikkim, he asked his party officials to coordinate the matter and help Santosh further achieve his dream.

On Friday morning, after making appointment with the Bollywood music composer, Santosh along with a coordinator of Chamling, left for Mumbai to pursue his dream.

Santosh has expressed his excitement after meeting Pritam and also extended heartfelt thanks to all the people who have made effort in making his dream turn into a reality.
