GUWAHATI: In a proud moment for the State, four films from Assam have been selected for screening at the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India.
Dimasa language film ‘Semkhor’ directed by Aimee Baruah has been selected as the jury’s choice for the Opening feature film of Indian Panorama 2021.
Apart from Semkhor, the other two films selected in the feature film section are Bodo language film ‘Sijou’ directed by Vishal P Chaliha, and Mishing language film ‘Boomba Ride’ by Biswajeet Bora.
The Assamese film ‘Veerangana’ by Kishore Kalita has been selected in the non - feature film category.
A total of 25 films got selected in the feature film section and an additional 20 got selected in the non-feature film section this year.
The International Film Festival is being organised at Goa this year by the Directorate of Film Festivals of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Central Government in collaboration with the State Government of Goa from November 20 - 28, 2021.
The prestigious Indian Panorama aims to select feature and non-feature films of cinematic, thematic, and aesthetic excellence for the promotion of film art through the non-profit screening of the films.
