GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Thursday arrested former Secretary of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Sabin Rajkhowa on charges of corruption in ABC, Guwahati.
As per the complaint filed by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (V&AC), Rajkhowa was involved in misappropriation of funds of more than Rs 1 crore which Kalakshetra has received from Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) to organize indigenous folk theatre festival in 2011-12.
The assistant accountant of the Kalakshetra during his regime, Dwipen Sharma, was also arrested in March this year for his involvement in the case.
