Former Ranji Player Anwar Hussain Hazarika Passes Away

GUWAHATI: Former Assam Ranji Trophy player Anwar Hussain Hazarika breathed his last on July 6 at the age of 75. He died at his Rajabari residence of Jorhat due to old age.

He represented the state team from 1965 to 1973, played a total of 16 Ranji Trophy matches, and scored 567 runs.

Hussain was a superintendent engineer of ONGC, and a founding member and treasurer of Spastics Society of Jorhat that has a school for specially-abled children at Cinnamara.

Hussain is survived by his wife and two sons.
