Former Congress, AASU and other scores of leaders join BJP

GUWAHATI: Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election, around 50 people including leaders from Congress, AASU, AJYCP and others have formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 13 March at the party’s State Headquarter at Hengrabari.

Addressing the media BJP State organisational secretary Phanindranath Sarma said that the party has strengthened its hold and is progressing towards working for the cause of the indigenous people and for ‘Jati, Mati and Bheti’. 

He also said that the party is confident in defeating the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
