GUWAHATI: Noted Assamese litterateur and Former president of Assam Sahitya Sabha Dr. Nagen Saikia has been selected for Sahitya Akademi Fellowship on 29 January.
Saikia is the third litterateur of Assam to get the prestigious literary honour.

Nagen Saikia was formerly a professor at Dibrugarh University and also had been a member of Rajya Sabha.
It is to be mentioned that the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship is an Indian literary honour bestowed by the Sahitya Akademi, which is the Indian National Academy of Letters.
