Former Assam DGP alleges faulty EVM and VVPAT at Polling Booth in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: As polling day kicks off in Guwahati, Former DGP Assam Police, Harekrishna Deka, who was one of the early morning voters, alleged that the machine he cast his vote on and the VVPAT did not show the same information as his vote.

The former cop speaking to G Plus said, "I went inside, voted and found that the VVPAT was showing a different name than my vote. As I complained about this to the polling authorities, I was told to pay Rs. 2 where my complain would be looked into and if it was found genuine, I would be. allowed to re-vote."

This is one of the several reports coming in. Polling at several booths has been delayed. The EVM at the Soil Conservation office , Zoo Road, Booth number 2013 has also been reported to be not working.

Polling was scheduled to start at 7:00 am, but has been delayed across several booths.
