GUWAHATI: Pankaj Pratim Dutta, who was the vice-president of All Assam Student Union’s (AASU) Dergaon unit and joined the ULFA-I in September last year, surrendered before Nagaland Police on August 31.
Dutta joining the militant outfit came to light after he posted a video on social media where he had expressed his reasons for joining the ULFA-I.

Speaking to media, Additional Director General of Assam Police’s Special Branch, Hiren Nath said that Dutta along with two other cadres surrendered before the Mon police of Nagaland. He said the officials are in the process to bring him back to Assam.
