Food And Beverage Company To Invest ₹ 778 Crore In Assam

GUWAHATI: Food and Beverage company Pepsi India Holding private limited is set to establish its first factory in Assam.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Pepsi India Holding Private Limited will establish a snack and food manufacturing unit in the Nalbari district.

The company will be investing an amount of ₹778 crore in Assam to set up the plant.

The Assam government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with various sectors and corporations for more than ₹8000 crore, creating 61000 jobs in the state.

“The company will be providing direct employment of 200 people and indirect employment of 500 people, stated Assam CM during the MoU signing.

The food and beverage company is one of the major conglomerates to sign an MoU with the administration for manufacturing food and snacks. An Indian subsidiary of PepsiCo since 1989, the company has been manufacturing beverages like Pepsi and snacks like Lays, Kurkure, and Cheetos.

Establishing a firm presence in India, this company with manufacturing facilities in different states of India and works with more than thousands of farmers in various parts of India to produce high-quality ingredients.
