GUWAHATI: To provide a push to the startup ecosystem in Assam, the state cabinet on Friday, January 31 approved the creation of a new administrative body, the Department of Innovation, Incubation, and Startup.

The department will supervise the development of startups in Assam, providing policy guidance, funding support, and mentorship opportunities to budding entrepreneurs. This move is expected to streamline the startup ecosystem and create a more conducive environment for innovation-driven enterprises in the state.
By institutionalising a dedicated department, the Assam government aims to encourage young entrepreneurs, attract investment, and generate employment opportunities.
