GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has condemned the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, calling it a dangerous signal of religiously motivated violence.
Reacting to reports that terrorists allegedly asked for the names of Hindus before targeting them, Sarma said, “I totally condemn the actions of terrorists who selectively targeted Hindus. This is a very serious and concerning development for us as a country.”
The Chief Minister stressed that such incidents prove that extremist forces do not differentiate within the Hindu community. “For these terrorists, all Hindus are the same. They target them without any distinction of caste,” he said.
Sarma also raised concern over internal threats and urged the public to remain alert. “There are people within India who are trying to divide us. We must stay cautious and not allow such forces to gain ground,” he added.
