Flood Continues To Create Havoc In Several Parts Of Assam

GUWAHATI: The flood situation in Assam is not yet stable as many parts of the state are yet submerged under water.

The rising water levels of the Kapili River have submerged several villages in Hojai district.

Hojai’s Salmari village, Baliram Pathar, Hayong village etc. are submerged under water and the rescue operation by NDRF and SDRF personnel are in the process.

Meanwhile, the rising water levels of Golaghat’s Dhansiri River have washed away the ghats, affecting the local Bhojpuri society who celebrates Chath Puja in the banks of the river.

The floods have also washed away the paddy cultivation and agricultutal lands in the region due to which the farmers are in huge distress.
