GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Friday inaugurated the first of its kind open air gym in Guwahati.
The gym has been set up at Mahavir Jain Uddyan, Bharalumukh, and was opened for public in presence of GMC Commissioner, Monalisa Goswami and Mayor, Mrigen Sarania.
The gym has been set up to encourage people to take up physical training activities and keep themselves fit.
Speaking to G Plus, GMC Commissioner, Monalisa Goswami said, "We are currently not using any expensive equipment, as we do not have the required budget right now. We have repaired some old cycles and fixed it in the park, so that people can use them. We have few more equipments but as of now we are not making use of anything costly. The idea is just to help people stay healthy."
