GUWAHATI: At least five persons were killed and one injured in a gun firing incident in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district today.
According to reports, the incident has been suspected to be carried out by ULFA (I), although there is no concrete evidence to support as of now.
The deceased have been identified as Subal Das, Dhanai Namsudra, Anant Biswas, Shyamal Biswas, and Abinash Biswas.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has condemned the incident and has directed DGP Kuladhar Saikia, ADGP Mukesh Agarwal, Minister Keshab Mahanta, and Tapan Gogoi to rush to the spot and take stock of the situation.
