Firecracker Prices Skyrocket In Guwahati, Know How Much You Have To Spend

GUWAHATI: The wholesale markets of Guwahati have witnessed a notable surge in firecracker prices this year, with an approximate 20 per cent increase compared to the previous year. As the festive season approaches, prices for popular firecracker varieties have seen a significant uptick. 

GPlus conducted a survey and engaged with wholesalers at Fancy Bazaar, where significant revelations regarding present pricing trends emerged. Conversations with wholesalers in key marketplaces provided the following insights into the current pricing trends: 

In Maliram Lohia Market: 

• Chakri prices now range from ₹20 to ₹300, reflecting a broad spectrum of options for consumers. 

• Flower pots, a common favourite, are available in the price range of ₹80 to ₹500. 

• Chocolate bomb crackers are priced between ₹30 and ₹90. 

• Phuljhari or sparklers, often adored for their gentle glow, are being sold at ₹160 for a pack of 20 pieces. 

In MM Road Market: 

• Chakri is being sold at around ₹300 per box. 

• Flower pot crackers exhibit variations in quality, with prices ranging from ₹150 to ₹400. 

• Phuljhari come in the price range of ₹70 to ₹250, offering diverse options to cater to varying preferences. 

• Sky shots, known for their dazzling displays, can be purchased at rates starting from ₹300 for a single shot and extending to ₹2000 for a pack of 120 shots.
