GUWAHATI: On Tuesday morning, February 19, a major fire broke out at the 132 KV powerhouse in Jagiroad Paper Mill.
Several lakhs worth of goods and machinery were reportedly destroyed in the fire. Numerous fire engines reached the spot soon after the incident and it took the firefighters more than two hours to completely douse the fire.
Initially, the factory staff tried to put out the fire, but they failed as it had become unmanageable.

Police officials are yet to determine what started the fire. However, they suspect that it was a short circuit that could have led to the incident.
