According to the FIR, Sunil Kumar Gupta and Vikas Kumar Gupta had arrived in Borbari on November 22, 2024, to purchase four vehicles; two Scorpios and two Boleros, through a broker.
The sellers, identified as Pronjoy Narzary and Dhiraj, had agreed to sell the vehicles for a total of ₹38 lakh, with the Scorpios priced at ₹12 lakh each and the Boleros at ₹7 lakh each.
After 15 days, an initial payment of ₹19.2 lakh was made to the sellers as part of the agreement. However, neither the vehicles were delivered nor was the money returned, leading the victims to approach the police.
Speaking to GPlus, Vikas Kumar Gupta said, “We have approached the Dispur Police Station. Despite presenting evidence regarding the three individuals involved in the fraud, the authorities have asked us to be patient since the investigation is going on for the moment.”
“We have presented various forms of evidence; CCTV footage of the hotel where we made the payment, PAN cards, Aadhar cards, etc.,” Vikas added.
Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway to track down the accused and recover the defrauded amount.
