GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, the Special Task Force (STF) Assam carried out a successful raid in the Bhangagarh area of Guwahati, leading to the seizure of suspected fake gold.
The raid targeted the area near Bhangagarh TV Tower and resulted in the apprehension of 30-year-old Dilwar Hussain from Nadika village of Lakhimpur district, who was allegedly in possession of a substantial quantity of suspected fake gold. The STF team seized 1.485 kilograms of the suspected fake gold during the operation.
In addition to the suspected fake gold, Hussain was found with ₹770 in cash, a mobile phone, and other belongings. The legal proceedings have been initiated against the apprehended individual, and STF is pursuing the necessary legal actions in connection with the case.
STF Assam took to X to put out a statement, which read, “Successful raid by STFAssam at near Bhangagarh TV Tower, Guwahati. Dilwar Hussain (30y) apprehended with 1.485 KG suspected fake gold, Rs. 770 cash, mobile phone, etc. Legal actions underway. #STF #FakeGoldBust."
