GUWAHATI: The Assam Police seized fake gold weighing around 1 kg from a residential house in Chariduar under Sonitpur district during an operation on May 17, media reports stated.
According to media reports, the police carried out an operation against duplicate gold in which they seized gold from a house belonging to one Samed Ali, aged 30 years, in the Gudamghat area in Charaiduar, Sonitpur.
Reports also state that the police have arrested the main accused Samed Ali, who allegedly has been running an illegal business of fake gold. He confessed to bringing in the gold from Lakhimpur.
Meanwhile, the police have informed that three more people are involved in the case and are currently absconding.
A search operation is on to nab the remaining accused, as per reports.
