GUWAHATI: Sivasagar police arrested three individuals for allegedly extorting money by posing as members of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA). The arrests were made on Wednesday, March 12.

The accused have been identified as Deep Hazarika, Salim Ullah, and Jamal Ali. The trio had been collecting money from individuals under the false pretext of representing ULFA.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Sivasagar police station, said, “Three individuals were arrested for extorting money in ULFA’s name. Investigation is underway.”
The authorities registered a case at Sivasagar Police Station and launched a probe into the matter. Their investigation ultimately led to the suspects' arrest.
