GUWAHATI: A tweet from the Assam State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma is doing the rounds on social media stating that 8 more persons who had travelled from Rajasthan have tested positive for COVID-19.
Replying in clarification to this, the minister tweeted, "I have noted with deep concern an altered/morphed screenshot of my tweet - where the numbers have been changed."
Further, the minister has directed Assam Police to immediately file an FIR and investigate the matter.

The creative has been widely shared over the WhatsApp platform and other social channels which is creating panic among citizens of Assam, especially in Cachar.
Currently, the active cases in Assam stand at 27 while 34 patients have already been discharged. The total number of COVID-19 cases reported so far in Assam is 62.
