GUWAHATI: An order claiming to be from the Ministry of Tourism stating that all hotels and restaurants in India will be closed till October 15 is going viral on social media.
The viral order further says that the most important hotels, restaurants, resorts in Northern India will remain closed till the above mentioned date.
The Press Information Bureau cleared the air in its official twitter stating that the order was fake and that it was not issued by the Ministry of Tourism.
The official Twitter handle of PIB Fact Check stated, "Be cautious of #Fake order claiming that hotels/restaurants will remain closed till 15th October 2020 due to #Coronavirusoutbreak.#PIBFactCheck: The order is Fake and has NOT been issued by Ministry of Tourism. Do not believe in rumours!"
