Extended Lockdown in Assam: Private Offices to Operate With 50% Capacity

GUWAHATI: All government and private offices in Assam have been allowed to resume work from May 4.

However, they are to function with 50% capacity. This was announced by the health and finance minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference on May 3.

Earlier today, a meeting was chaired by chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal wherein relaxations for the state were chalked out.

It was decided that these relaxations will not be given in the Orange Zones of the state. There are presently no Red Zones in Assam. The Orange Zones are Morigaon, Bongaigaon, Dhubri and Goalpara.

Further, all offices must maintain social distancing norms such as wearing of mask by all employees and customers and sanitizing.

Women employees of government and private organizations alike who have kids up to 5 years old at home have been restricted from going to office.
