Ex-ULFA leader Jiten Dutta sent to 14 days of Judicial Custody

GUWAHATI: Former Commander of ULFA’s 28th battalion, Jiten Dutta, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a court here in Guwahati. Dutta had been allegedly making inflammatory statements and was earlier detained by Gaurisagar police for questioning.

The Gitanagar Police Station wanted a 5-day custody of the former ULFA leader which the court did not agree to. Dutta has been booked under 153, 153 A of the IPC.

Dutta allegedly gave communally-charged statements against Hindu-Bangladeshi and threatened to pick up arms again.
