GUWAHATI: Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who retired on 17 November as the Chief Justice of India, has vacated his official home ahead of his one-month deadline.

Gogoi has moved out of his official bungalow, 5 Krishna Menon Marg assigned to him and probably the first Chief Justice to vacate his official residence just three days after retirement.

Earlier, Justice JS Khehar, a former Chief Justice, also vacated the house within a week after his retirement.

Meanwhile Gogoi's security has been upgraded to Z Plus in Assam and is said to be settling here in Guwahati.

On his last working day, he sat in the Supreme Court's number one court for a few minutes, during which the lawyers' body of the Supreme Court paid tribute to him.
