GUWAHATI: In a heartwarming incident on April 17, polling station officials from the Election Commission of India (ECI) were seen traversing through challenging terrains to reach the polling station in Siang, Arunachal Pradesh.

In a video put up by ECI on X, it can be seen that polling officials are hiking up steep mountains and travelling through the deep jungles just to reach Gasheng village in Siang to make Lok Sabha polls a reality in the region.

Gasheng village in Siang which falls under Payum Circle, offers harsh terrains and mountains for anyone visiting.
It is situated 45 km away from sub-district headquarters Payum (tehsildar office) and 132km away from district headquarters Aalo.
As per 2009 stats, Gasheng village is also a gram panchayat.
