Duo from Assam conferred with prestigious titles by World Chess Federation (FIDE)

GUWAHATI: Biswajit Bharadwaj from Assam has been conferred with the title of “International Arbiter” by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) during their Presidential Board Meeting held at Baku, Azerbaijan during 27 to 30 June, 2019. 

Bharadwaj had earlier completed all norms required for the title in February 2019, and has now become the first and only person from Assam to hold this prestigious title till date.

Salina Masum, another arbiter from Assam has also been conferred the title of “FIDE Arbiter” in the same meeting. She has thus become the first and only person to hold this title from Assam.
