District Transport Officer Prasenjit Ghosh was arrested in connection with the APSC scam on Monday, April 9.
Allegedly, he wrote all his answers for the APSC examination in duplicate answer sheets. The issue came to light when his answer sheets were sent in for forensic examination. The answer sheets of those accused in the APSC cash for job scam had earlier been forwarded for forensic testing.
Ghosh is currently under police custody and has been brought to Guwahati from Tezpur, where he is currently posted. He will be produced at Special court on Tuesday, April 10. Ghosh is currently under custody of Special Branch, Assam Police.
Special investigation officer Surjeet Singh Panesar, has been called in from Dibrugarh to Guwahati to investigate the case further.
Earlier, Ghosh was questioned by the Assam CID for his alleged involvement in the coal scam.
