GUWAHATI: The Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, G P Singh directed all the district police units including the Guwahati Police Commissionerate to form task forces with immediate effect.
The notification stated, "Dumpers vehicles plying without number plate, indicators, lights, tail-lamps and without valid documents will be fined and officers will take necessary action as per law."
It is to be mentioned that with the onset of winter, the construction work has led to heavy demand of raw materials and for which dumpers plying on the city roads have surged which is also leading accidents.
Meanwhile in Sivasagar district, a special drive against dumpers, tippers etc for rash and negligent driving has been undertaken by Sivasagar Police.
