GUWAHATI: In light of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Assam and the immense number of medical staff working for the same, the district administration of Kamrup(M) has requisitioned four buildings of the city to accommodate officials of hospitals and quarantine centres with effect from April 8.
The four buildings are Hotel Vishwaratna, Aathgoan; Haryana Bhawan Bharalumukh; Haryana Bhawan Guesthouse Bharalumukh; and Terapanth Bhawan Fancy Bazar.
The above mentioned buildings have been requisitioned as per the Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Section 65(1)A and 66 of Disaster Management Act, 2005.
They are to provide vacant rooms for the quarantine of personnel working in the health sector after completing one week of service.
The government will pay for all the rent and for the managements of these buildings.
