GUWAHATI: The students of Dibrugarh University wrote letters to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal with their blood protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on February 11.
As per media reports, 16 students from different departments of Dibrugarh University drew their blood using syringes and cutting their fingers with blades to write the letters urging Sonowal led BJP government to scrap the bill.
After being tabled and approved at the Lok Sabha, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is now due to be passed by the Rajya Sabha.
