GUWAHATI: An assistant professor in Assam's Dibrugarh University was arrested for allegedly video-graphing and uploading pornographic content on the internet.
The Dibrugarh Police, based on an FIR lodged by the registrar of the university, apprehended the assistant professor of Mathematics, who is in his late 30s.
Speaking to G Plus, Padma Nath Baruah, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Dibrugarh said, "We have arrested the accused and forwarded him to jail custody and we have recovered the links where the obscene video has been shared."

"We have started our investigation and are also analyzing from where the links are being generated and who has shared or uploaded it till now," he added.
Barauah further stated that they would require some more time to find out the detailed report of the case.
“During interrogation, the educator confessed of having video-graphed the pornographic content with a woman in a hotel in Guwahati three years ago," the ASP said.
Meanwhile, the camera used for recording, phone and laptop has been seized by the police.
The accused assistant professor originally hails from Pathsala in Assam. During interrogation he said that he had no knowledge how the video got uploaded.
The assistant professor has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act.
