GUWAHATI: The main accused in the Dibrugarh triple murder case, was killed in an encounter with Dibrugarh Police on Tuesday, May 19.
Reportedly, the accused identified as Sanjay Das - a former SSB jawan, killed his wife, son and one of his close relatives with his licensed gun on May 18 last.
Following the crime Das was absconding and hiding in an abandoned building.

Sources in the police said, “We launched an operation to catch the accused alive. However, when he continued firing for hours, we also had to return the fire."
The encounter took place at a distance of about 500 metres from his house at Xukan Pukhuri.
