Degree-Level Online Education Programme to be Introduced

GUWAHATI: The government is proposing to offer degree-level online education programme for students, said finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday while presenting the union budget 2020-21.

She added that only a few institutions among the top 100 to be allowed to offer such a programme.

Further, the government has proposed Rs 99,300 crores for the education sector in 2020-21 and Rs 3000 crores for skill development.

In terms of higher education, the government has proposed SAT exam in Asian, African countries.

Further, the FM said that the government is set to announce the new education policy soon for which the government has received over 2 lakh suggestions.
