GUWAHATI: A massive fire erupted at a house in Sreenagar, Guwahati, on September 18, around 1 PM with eyewitnesses reporting probable cylinder blasts. At least four large fire tenders and one small from Dispur were fighting the blaze at the time of filing this report.

The house on Bylane No. 6, owned by Binu Barman, also has a few tenants. Neighbours initially tried to contain the blaze before the fire tenders arrived. As per locals, there were three cylinder blasts.
The police have also reached the scene. A Fire Department official told GPlus, "We are suspecting cylinder blast. We have dispatched six fire tenders, with three already on the scene, working to control the fire."
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Further details are awaited.
A major fire broke out in the Arya Nagar area earlier in the day. No casualties have been reported.
