GUWAHATI: The Communist Party of India (CPI) will field two candidates in Assam from Jorhat and North Lakhimpur constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kanak Gogoi has been finalised from Jorhat while Arup Kalita will contest from North Lakhimpur.
This was announced on Tuesday when the party released its list of candidates for Assam, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal for the elections. CPI will field seven candidates in total from these three states.
The Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The polling in Assam will take place in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23.
