GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that citizens of Assam will be provided with free COVID-19 vaccine whenever the vaccine is released in the market.
Announcing the same, Sarma tweeted, “Vaccine will be obviously free in Assam. The Government of India has already decided to distribute the vaccine free of cost.”
The central government is expecting to start the sale of the much-anticipated vaccine by December.

“It is difficult to say when the vaccines will be available. It depends on how the trials go and when the vaccines get regulatory approval. But it is expected in late December or January," a health ministry official was reported as saying by national media.
