COVID 19 Update: Unlock 5 Extended till November 30 across India

GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday, October 27 said the “guidelines for reopening” issued last month, permitting cinema halls, entertainment parks and swimming pools for sports persons to open, will continue to be applicable till November 30 in areas outside the containment zones.


The guidelines issued on September 30 were to be in force till October 31. However, in its latest order the MHA has extended Unlock 5.


The government has not made any new changes in the guidelines.

A complete lockdown in India was first imposed from March 25 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. It has been relaxed considerably over the past four months and the Centre has given permission for many economic activities to resume.


India’s coronavirus count rose to 79,46,429 on Tuesday as it reported 36,470 new cases in a day. The country’s toll rose by 488 to 1,19,502. India’s active cases stood at 6,25,857, while the number of recoveries reached 72,01,070.
