GUWAHATI: With 1,380 more persons testing positive for COVID-19 on September 17, Assam's total tally has crossed the 1.50 lakh mark.
The latest cases were detected from all across the state, out of 20,557 COVID tests conducted. This was informed by the Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sarma wrote, "Alert ~ 1380 #COVID cases detected today out of 20557 tests. The positivity rate for the infection is 6.71%. With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,50,349.”
Further, with 2,246 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 28,208 while 1,21,610 persons have been cured of the virus.
The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 528.
